Hi.

Welcome to my blog! I discuss my thoughts on fitness, health, sobriety, veganism, and so much more!

To Triathlon & Beyond!

To Triathlon & Beyond!

Triathlon is a sport I have wanted to try for the past few years. Ever since I read Rich Roll’s book, Finding Ultra, I have dedicated a large majority of my life to becoming healthy and fit. This journey that took me from the couch to the finish line of a marathon taught me more about life than I ever expected. I began running solely to lose weight and ended up changing my entire life. I can attribute sobriety, veganism, my health, career change, and so much more to this pursuit of fitness. Looking back, I only wish that I would have better documented these changes so that I could share this journey and inspire someone else to take back control of their life.

So here we are, July of 2019, I have signed up for my first triathlon. An Olympic distance race consisting of a 1500 meter swim, a 40-kilometer bike, and a 10-kilometer run. I absolutely love training, so much that I tend to complete obsess over it; reading everything I can find, listening to as many podcasts as possible, and watching documentaries of athletes when I have spare time. Training gives me purpose. I love to have a long term specific goal to work towards. Small steps each day pave the way to being able to complete this goal, and each day fuels motivation for the next.

I want to make a commitment to posting each Sunday, to recap my previous week of training. I will be discussing the training I did in that week and why, any recovery tips and tricks that I am using, sleep patterns and how I am trying to maintain healthy sleep, meditation practices, and anything else that I find relevant to training.

I would love to hear feedback, questions, comments, and any tips or advice you may have to offer.
